Senate votes to acquit President Trump on both articles of impeachment

Senators voted almost along party lines not to convict President Donald Trump on the two articles, “abuse of power” and “obstruction of Congress,” therefore ending the impeachment trial. U.S. Senators voted 52 to 48 to acquit the U.S. president on the first article of impeachment, abuse of power, and 53 to 47 to acquit on the second article, the charge of obstruction of Congress.
